Thanks for clearing any doubts I had..just hoped it was'nt as delicate as the Denim Black paint I have on the Bob...Just use hot water and a sponge on that and dont use to much pressure but hey!! beats polishing paint and chrome haha!
no matter how durable the finish you can surface scratch it more easily than chrome... not to worry though, it is durable and very easy to wet sand and buff out.
rounder... 99% of the time you are right on... in this case i would not agree... chrome is VERY easy to scratch... and good powder work is very durrable, i would say they are about the same... that is the reason that you do not see chrome farm tools you see all powder coated... cause it will hold up the the elements and crap thrown at it... chrome will not

Here's my experience:
I have thrown a few parts in my relocation box in my garage and the parts that have been powdered have been scratched up from metal to metal contact while the chrome pieces are good as new. For instance I had a A/C cover powdered and did not use it so in the box it went. In the same box is my old original A/C cover. the powdered cover has scratches and the chrome one does not. This also goes for the OEM black belt cover. It got scratched but the chrome one is fine. I sanded and polished the scratches out easily enough when I put the guard back on my bike so it now looks good as new, but, they did occur. Through this experience, I came to the conclusion that the powder can scratch easier than chrome.
I painted my lower forks when I first bought my 09. It looked great but chipped after the second ride. I had them powdercoated, along with a ton of other parts. They look great and no longer have any durability concerns.
Thanks for the feedback guys..have decided to pc lower legs, triple trees and the handlebars up front and pc or wrinkle black the rear fender covers and springs,,,have fixed sissy bar ready to go at the same time, side plates had to be wrinkled black by NewRoc HD as they only came chromed for 07 Dyna's(bit strange as the sissy-bar itself could be ordered in w/b ).
