Before you congrat me listen to this. We had a drawing at my local Harley Dealer. 3 gifts 3 choices 1st $50 -100, 2nd $100 - $300 3rd $300 -$500.. I got a call last week informing me I had won the Detachable Windshield the top choice in my list. This was a random drawing. I was so excited.... When I mailed it in I remember putting that it was for my 08 FXDF. The parts guys orderd a windshield for 06 or later superglide( I didnt know this at the time). The wife goes in and just makes it Christmas Eve to pick it up. I get her on the phone and asked her the part # of the box and found out it was for a SuperGlide. Argh ! She said she asked them twice if it would fit an 08 FXDF Fat Bob. Both part guys said the part fit. We didnt know till she was on her way home and they had already closed for the holiday. Well ,we are going to try and get them to exchange it friday or saturday. I actually offered it to my wife for her superglide , but she insisted that I won it and should get it. This crap always happens to me. Oh well I hope it works out in the end.
man, that doesnt suprise me. it seems you really have to do the research before you walk into a dealer these days. what these guys dont know about harleys, could fill several books. funny thing is, these books are right in front of them.
Good thing is, when you do get the right one I think you'll be pleased with it. It looks and fits great. I have that windshield on my '09 Fat Bob and it's allowing me to ride in the cold weather rather comfortably
Speaking of parts guys... "results may vary" depending on who you talk to! My wife tried to pick up some bits and pieces and have Santa deliver them but the dealer said theyd have to order everything. We stopped by the day before xmas to look around and when I asked about the pieces the guy says "Oh yeah, we got most of that in stock"
Good news is I got some more chrome on the bike now but my wife was kida bummed Santa wasnt able to bring it to me.
