The only way to get rid of the Buffeting is get lowers. I know, I know.. They look worst than dropping the shield below the triple trees (been there done that). Huge difference with the lowers from Memphis Lowers, moving the shield down lead me to the lowers.
Hmmm.... I'm 5'10" and have the windshield set in the "normal" position and dont think the buffeting is that bad. A little bit but not enough to make me want to move the shield.
The shield could look good as positioned in Centerline's pics if the cutout were modified to clear the headlights. Not sure how many people want to hack their shield like that though.
I'll take a little buffeting over the blast of cold air this time of year! (riding in Maryland)

I had a touring (I think) windshield with my 94 Low Rider. Pear shaped and sort of wrapped around at the bottom. Great, almost no buffeting. Can't get em anymore.
I have the standard quick detach windshield on my Bob and at 80 mph have very little buffer... I wear a 1/2 helmet so I cant speak to the full face helemt, I have a extra windshield that I got off ebay for cheap and cut it down with a jigsaw for summer when I go on longer trips
I had the Full Size Touring Detachable on my FXD,couldn't stop the Buffeting, the best position was it's lowest, the wind comes up from underneath, lowers sound like the best cure,I got fed up with it so I bought a full face.Solved the problem with buffeting but a lot of body pressure above 70mph,so I changed out the standard FXD bars for lowrider bars, much reduced pressure i'm now about to fit Drags,so I lean more into the wind,& not upright like a sail, hope that works!.Harley IMHO need a proper aerodynamic shield solution.
