Anyone here have the Sundowner Solo? What do you think of the lokks and comfort. I am thinking of changing my stock FXDL seat. It is comfortable enough from a but comfort standpoint, but the deep ski slope design moves you just a bit too far forward and you can't slide back, just up.
Well I put the sundowner solo and passanger pad on mine a couple of weeks ago. But the weather has been to bad to ride untill today. I'm going riding and when I get back I'll tell you how I like it. Just from sitting on it it's seems alot more easyer on the behind.
Ok as promised her is what I think of the Sundowner Solo seat. Get it, your butt will thank you. I rode almost 200 miles today and could have went 200 more. With my old seat my butt would go numb after about 1/2 hour. Not any more. I did find I sit about an inch higher and maybe just a touch more back if at all. So I say get it I think you will like it.

Put the sundowner duel on my LR for wide. sets to high for me so just use it when she rides with.
Went to local custom upholstery shop had them put gel pad in stock low rider seat,as I like to set down in the seat, only raised it 1/4 in. and alot more comfy.
I'd go with a Mustang Vintage Solo. It looks better and the quality of Mustang seats is so far above Harley it's not even funny.
Take any Harley seat out of the box and make a direct comparison. The cover on the Harley seat is stapled on. Mustang uses stainless steel rivets. The baseplate on a Harley seat is made from plastic and is so thin you can easily bend the seat. On the Mustang the baseplate is 1/4" fiberglass. I could go on, but you get the picture. Anyone who buys a Harley seat after actually looking at the difference in construction and materials is throwing money away, IMO.
I love my Sundowner solo, but no one makes a riders backrest you can use with it. Of course that probably won't be a problem for you since you have a Low Rider.
