I have had my Dyna about 18 months now (my first Harley) and have always noticed some vibration above 60 mph. Well not having anything to compare it to except my previous metrics, I chalked it up to it just being a Harley.
Well I got new tires a few weeks ago (at 7600 miles) and the tech (my indy does a really thorough job) added some weights to both the front and back rims that weren't there from the dealer I bought the WG new from. Can you believe that the bike is smooth as silk now? I am a little pissed that I didn't realize this sooner! Sometimes we overlook the obvious. I've read posts about motor mounts, loud pipes and loose spokes and how they contribute to vibration. But I just figured that my Harley was just being a Harley!
I was soooo wrong.
I put this out there because maybe this may help someone else smooth their machine out.

Reason: can't type worth a damn
Someone did a poor job balancing the OEM tires. I don't know if that job is part of the PDI by the dealer or done at the factory. I Assume they leave the factory balanced. Mine were fine.

Just curious, when the previous tires were giving you the vibrations, did any body verify the tire pressures were at mfg. reccomendations? The higher tire pressures will promote quicker wear and also transmit more road surface imperfections to the handlebars. A proper PDI should have caught this or the tires got bumped up on the 1000 mile checkup. Glad to see you found an indy to help you out.

I check tire pressure every Saturday morning. It is dead on factory specs.
