+1 for Mascman's suggestion.

I applaud you for choosing a Bob. It's a sweet bike. But it really was designed for solo riding. You can add the necessary equip for 2-up riding, but you'll be adding quite a bit of initial cost before you even ride it home.

You might think about another model, like the Superglide Custom if you're going to be doing lots of 2-up.

But take my opinions with a grain of salt. I rigged my Bob for 2-up and like having the option to switch between solo and 2-up with less than 10 minutes of wrenching. I do miss the old days, though, when the rear fender was clean and I didn't have passenger pegs....

You ever ridden pillion on a Bob for any length of time??.My girls been on the back ever since I got mine and we do quite a bit of distance riding, have finally succumbed to putting a sissy bar on for her..took pity on the poor gal..she had **** and back pains from the vibes passing along the rear fender mounts(like tuning forks) and back pains because of the position she was sitting trying to hang on.She tried a mates Dyna with sissy bar and said it improved her comfort no end..so the sissy is going on before the next riding season.

X2, get the super glide custom, forward controls, detachable sissy bar, and dump the stock seat.... the HP sundowner is mighty comfy. That stuff will be covered under the original warranty if the dealer puts it on before you roll it off the floor.

Where is the debate? It seems like I am the only that has bought one and would like to hear others opinions that actually own one, so, If you have not tried it then don't knock it!

The HD rack and removable pillion works great and is comfortable, pricey but I bought it through Zannoti and saved $140 (Rack-pillion-back support and pad). I also had the bolt on pillion, was not very comfortable, ugly and screwed up my fender. The two up seat(s) also scratched the fender and also look like crap to me. With the dual set up you retain the solo look and can snap the pillion on and off in seconds, plus you have a rack so you can strap on crap when you need to and it does not touch the fender. Works for me and if the wife don't like it she can get her own damn bike!

Some like it, some don't....this has been widely discussed in the Dyna seat threads. Some passengers like it, some don't. I doubt you're the passenger on your bike very much, to testify as to its long term comfiness as the miles go by.

The last thing to take personally is whether someone thinks the seat you have is comfy...come on.

If your gonna ride with your girl often, I would go for a detachable sissy bar & a 2-up seat. But I would buy them outright rather than roll them in with financing. By the time you pay the bike off, you probably paid triple the price for the accessories.

Wow guys. Thanks for all your anwsers. Nice that so many would reply to this post.

I like many of your suggestions. The reason I want the street bob in stead of the super glide custom is that here in Sweden where I live, the custom is more expensive (about 1950 usd) and it also does not come with forward constrols standard. So I would still have to get forward controls or forward pegs and sissybar. And I like the looks of the bob better. Not so much chrome, black rims, the new style rear fender and higher bars.

So mayby I should take a serious talk with the dealer when I go to sign the papers about adding what I want.

I browsed the usa HD page yesterday and the rack for the solo seat part. 52796-09 where a detachable seat and sissy can be mounted looks great and may be the solution Im looking for.
But mayby the dealer have a suggestion to what I can do, and will make a great deal.

If the dealer you talk to is cool, he might let you mock up the rack/pillion combo and let your girl try it out...that way you can be sure if she'll like it before you buy. I tried the stock Wide Glide 2up seat on my Bob and the wife knew within 15 yards of leaving the curb that it wasn't going to work.
