I got a J P Cycles book but was confused with all the ones offered.
Plus I'm not sure if they need a load equalizer or not and how to hook one up.
Just call J&P they will know, or should know. The forum link below some say they have everything LED and others say they need the. One say he has everything LED and with the run/stop/turn module it has a built in load equalizer and it all works fine... I would just call! The load equalizer are just plug and play.
For anyone interested, here's an update. Went to Auto Zone for some new wiper blades and happened to look at the bulb selection. Found some Jam Strait red LED 1156 bulbs and thought I'd give 'em a try. Popped right in and worked fine. Put my smoked lenses back on and I'm good to go. Now I got to get used to looking at the little "flower" of LEDs in my signal housing. Reminds me of teenagers and their little import car lights but I guess I'll get used to it! LOL!
I have red kury ones in my signals... to make the smoked lens darker, spray some black paint on the chrome that goes around the bulb. Looks much better!

If those don't work out for ya (not bright enough), try some Sylvania SilverStar bulbs. Much brighter. They are a bluish color, although they glow red, and they look kind of cool through the lense. I used them for years with my clear lense setup. The LED's kind of scared me because they aren't that bright during the day, at least that's what I was told by others that rode behind me. One of the reasons I like the stock red lenses with the brake/turn/run module is they are really visable to cagers.
Thanks for the suggestion. The ones I got were the Jam Strait "Super" LEDs which are the middle bulbs between the economy and the "Hyper " models. They are advertised in the J&P Cycles catalog as being brighter than stock incandescents and they seem to be just that. When I got behind the bike they were annoyingly bright (a good thing) and were brighter than the new Harley tri bar LED tail light I inastalled. Funny thing is I was just getting used to the red lenses in the back and now got to re-adjust to the look of the LEDs! Well, that's what it's all about anyway- trying different things to get the bike just where you want it.
Oh, one thing I forgot to mention is that the LEDs are not nearly as visible if you are not directly behind them. One advantage to having incandescents and red lenses. Not a huge problem since their use is directed towards folks behind you, but I guess it does help with some side or angle visibility for what its worth.
