Score! ! ! S-E Fork Brace
I've been looking for a Screamin' Eagle Brace for my '06 Wide. HD has discontinued them, and when I COULD find one somewhere, they wanted full retail...$199. I bought two used ones @ $100/ea (ebay & HDForum member) only to be refunded each time when both turned out to be unavailable. Frustration was setting in. Today I was doing some online searching and found a dealer website that had a page of "Parts Department Clearance" items. There was my 46634-06 SE Chrome Fork Brace for $15 and change!! I about threw both wrists out, dialing the phone with one hand and pulling my VISA card out with the other.
Now, if they just don't call me back with a refund...
Do you know why they have discontinued? Top that was funny. I have one but had to pay full rate for it. It took me forever to find and finally did in San Antonio TX.

A couple sites I ran across in my search were actually selling fancy HD dust-boots for the lowers. They turned up in my search because they stated in the text of their description they wouldn't work with the 46634-06 SE Fork Brace. Top, does your bike have the upgraded dust-boots and maybe that's why the Brace wouldn't go on? Just thinking out loud. I hope I don't have any problem installing it after the previous frustrations and the "high" of finding it at such a bargain price. I'll post a follow up in a week or so, when it arrives.

Reason: typo
I bought one... couldn't get it on (4 screws). I ain't kddin'. Sold it.
Let us know how it goes.
Same problem. Screws were too short by 1/4" so i bought new ones. What a differance this thing made on the front end. I love it. I got it for 160.00 on ebay from a harley dealer. Let me tell you it was well worth it. Didnt have any problem finding one.
Fifteen bucks?! That is a really, really good price. I just spent $137 on a Superbrace, and I was okay with that price. It's really a worthwhile upgrade.

Yep... that was MY problem. I paid $90 on ebay. Made a tidy profit when I sold it. Bought cigars and a 12 pack of Rolling Rock with the proceeds. All's well that ends well!

Got it installed; Topspin and Dpriest were right...couldn't get the caps on using the supplied screws (too short). I'd'a been pissed if I'd spent $200 and couldn't put it on. Stopped by Lowes on the way home from my short ride today, and spent a few bucks on four stainless screws a 1/4" longer. Got home and had everything Loc-Tite'd and installed in a half an hour. Started sprinkling as I was finishing up, so I'll have to wait for better weather before I go see if I can feel a difference.
