Default FXDWG Lowering Question

Will it be necessary for me to install a shorter jiffy stand on a Wide Glide if I drop both the front and rear by 1" to 1 1/2"?

I believe so but I do remember someone on the forum modding their oem jiffy stand to work correctly. Lowering the bike does cause it to stand up a little straighter.

An inch or less should be no problem, just be more careful about parking on any kind of an angle.

I dropped my 06 WG to 11" Progressives in the rear and the jiffy stand works fine.

Yep, I already have the back dropped to 11" shocks and the original works fine. But now that the front is dropping I wasn't sure. Figured I'd collect everything possibly required before starting any of it.

all you need is a dremmel. you can cut off about 1/8" of the part of the jiffy stand that the frame settles on. It is in the $50 thread. post #800 and something.

To find out, put something the same height as the amount you are lowering under the kickstand. That'll show you the angle it will sit.
