With the mids, if you have highway pegs, you can move your legs and feet around, supported, to different positions while on long rides .... superior for overall comfort. With mids, you have far better control while actively riding your beast. For instance, try standing up quickly or just getting off the seat for a major bump ahead, w/o major pulling on the bars when equipped w/ forward controls.
Ditto...I set up my SB this way, and it works great for me...
Either one will be better then your sportster muahaha..LoL J/K I rode the Street Bob and LOVED it..I never did ride the Fat Bob but then again I didnt like the look of it either, alot of the dealership guys said I should of taken one out, but I didnt, I never really liked the dual front light though, but its all in what you want man..test rides will def help though...Good Luck
Hmmmm, kinda odd. When I was getting mine they told me I could test ride one. I was torn between the forwards and mid controls and they said I could ride one as long as I had my license. I knew I really wanted mids so I just had them order me one. They had the forward controls on the floor so maybe they were just trying to get me to test that one so I would buy it and not order what I wanted.
No, go with your gut, try to find a way to ride both. The Street Bob does not appeal to me, the Fat Bob stole my heart the very first time I saw it! So. .. it's hard for me to put myself in your shoes!
The Fat Bob has lived up to all my expectations. My girlfriend really digs it too.
