I run the Vista on my '06 with stock grips. Works great. You wind up losing about a half inch of grip space though. If you have average sized hands its not a big deal.
that little **** under your throttle that looks like a star, that is what that is! that is a throttle lock, all you ahve to do is twist if forward and it locks the throttle... DONE AND DONE!
I recently purchased a throttlelocklever from this website for my Heritage.
Only 1 test ride with it so far, but I like it. Easy to install on the star wheel and makes it much easier to use. Had to try it in 3 different positions before it felt like it was adjusted properly.
When I bought my 08 the stealer told me the **** was a throw back. You can start yer machine up, raise the idle and turn the **** to let it warm up. He said it isnt a throttle lock.
I guess when they removed the high idle circuits from the carbed models, they used the **** instead. Why our EFIs have them is beyond me
I am going to Sturgis this year and would like to add a throttle lock style cruise control that is easier to use than the one the Motor Company provides. While surfing the net, I found one that interests me and wondered if any of you have seen or used it.
The one that I am talking about is made by Vista Cruise.
If you know anything about this one or have input or comments about another brand, I would appreciate your help.

Look in the owners manual. It states that it is used to relieve fatigue on long trips.
The **** under yer thottle is not cruise, its to use instead of a choke.
The Vista is ok, a lot of modern thottles wont except them. Ive used them for many many years.
I got throttle Meister for my last machine, then adapted to my sporty.
I'll never use anything else.
Its not a lock, but a dampener.
You still have control incase of emergency.
Gotta disagree with you there. The stock **** is indeed good for warming up a carbed bike like mine, but it also works as a throttle damper and a manual cruise (obviously works best on relatively flat roads). You can adjust it so that it overpowers the spring and holds the throttle where you want, but you can still twist the grip as you need to. Works just fine and not dangerous at all in my experience. I use it constantly (along with a throttle rocker).
Disengages if you apply front brake, rear brake or the clutch. At $199.00, it's not cheap, and it locks you in to only using the Kury ISO grips that come with the package.
I can't believe H-D doesn't offer the actual actual cruise control for EFI bikes for the Dyna.
