Disengages if you apply front brake, rear brake or the clutch. At $199.00, it's not cheap, and it locks you in to only using the Kury ISO grips that come with the package.

I can't believe H-D doesn't offer the actual actual cruise control for EFI bikes for the Dyna.

Or, do they and I just missed it?
I know what you're saying there Ern, but somehow electronic cruise control on a Dyna just doesn't seem right....

I ran the Vista Cruise until I changed the grips to the Chrome and Rubber ones. Couldnt get the Vista to stay put on those, so I took it off and gave it to mama. The Vista spoiled me, and I'd love to get something that works with the grips.

The star wheel works, but it sucks. And the Throttle lockers that attach to the star bother me. Nothing like rolling on the throttle in a curve and having your thumb push the locker forward. That lasted for about an hour before the goodie wound up in the saddle bag. Grabbing a handful in the twisties with tension on the throttle aint much fun.

Thanks for all of the comments. There seems to be 3 brands of throttle lock that appeal to me.
Throttlemeister
Vista Cruise
Kaoko
Unfortunately, as far as I can tell none of them will work with the Kuryakyn Iso Grips.

NGOTI8TOR,

I found the website and a phone # for the company that makes the Vista Cruise. I left them a message and sent an email to them hoping that they have an answer.

I Found some instructions for mounting it with ISO grips on a Kawasaki forum and on the Vista Cruise site they had a statement that indicated that they have special parts available for installing the unit on a metric bike with Kuryakyn ISO grips. I don't know what the difference between an ISO for a Harley and a metric is but I will find out.

Hopefully after talking to them I will have an answer with a solution. I will keep you posted.

Jim

Thanks for all of the comments.

I finished my research and thought I would let you all know what I found out.

Vista Cruise - I found their website and phone #. The name of the company is Sound Off Recreational Inc. The website is soundoffrec.com. The phone # is 616-532-2357. I got hold of one of their technical guys named Doug and he told me that the Harley specific model (Part # MCUVHD) will work on a Harley with ISO grips. Price range $29.95-$36.99

Breakeaway Products - Their website says it will not work with ISO grips. I called to talk to someone with technical knowledge about the product hoping that I could find a way to make it work. Two times, the girl that answers the phone said she would have the owner (also the engineer and designer) call me but he has not bothered to return my calls. Looks like a nice product and I like the fact that it comes off if you touch the front brake but It will not work with the ISO grips and I question what their customer service would be like if you had a problem. Price range $189.99-$219.99

Kaoko - This one will work with ISO grips but you have to drill out the end of the grip to 7/8" and the Throttle Boss will no longer fit. Price range $125.00 right side only to $219.99 both sides.

Throttlemeister - The website says that it will not work with ISO grips but when I talked to one of the their engineers we concluded that it PROBABLY COULD BE USED by taking the throttle grip off of the bike, sliding the unit into the handle bar, sliding the throttle grip back on over the shaft of the throttlemeister. This would be a tricky assembly and you would need to make a friction disk to mount in the end of the ISO grip. I say this is a lot of work for a (MAYBE IT WILL WORK). Price range $125.00 to $240.00

What I ended up with is the Kuryakyn Electromagnetic Cruise Assist. I chose it because of the following reasons:
1. Works with ISO grips and the Throttle Boss.
2. Turns off when you touch the front or rear brake.
3. Comes with chrome Boss Blade levers. (these are shorter reach and I had been thinking about them for my short fingers anyway)
4. Comes with a set of ISO grips. This is a big savings if you don't already have them)
5. J&P cycle price $199.99 Gold club price $179.99

Hope this info will save some time and be of help to someone interested in adding a throttle lock style cruise control to their bike.

Jim

I've had the Vista Cruise on my Honda since 2001 and love it. If I ever decide to ride the Dyna any distance I'd install one on it also.
