Hey, I'm a medium height woman (5'6") and 120 lbs. I really love the Fat Bob. I've had a few bikes. The only Harley was a 92 FXR. I handled that just fine but had to have the freeway pegs brought in for comfort and larger bars put on so that I wasn't leaning forward to ride. I fell in love with the Fat Bob. What do people think. Can I handle the Fatty? Will I need to change the bars? Can I buy a used one with forward controls and be able to ride the beast home? Thanks for your imput, hot Scooter Men.
I believe you can make a Fat Bob fit you, if it doesn't as stock. You can consider lowering shocks, lower seat or having the stock seat modified (meancitycycles.com), new bars, etc. I would definately go to the dealer and sit on one with forwards before you buy. My wife is an inch or two shorter than you and can just reach the stock forwards on her Sportster. You may be OK with leg length, but find out before you buy. Adding mid controls would be an expensive and/or time consuming mod. Might also sit on a Low Rider. Same frame as the Fat Bob, but shorter shocks and seat moves you down and forward. If the Low Rider fits, you can make the Fat Bob do the same.
Hope this helps,
John (the not so hot scooter boy)

I think you can make it work for you......might not need to do anything other than start that baby up!! It is a great bike, handles well and has killer looks!! I think you would really like the bike...........go for it!!!
Maybe some 11" shocks a reach seat, and pullback risers to get yourself in the comfort zone. I also think the fatbob is available with mids. You might have to go to a few dealers to find what your looking for. See if they have different seating option to try before you buy. Make em work for their money. Even if you dont buy from them, or you buy a used bike, at least you'll now what options you have. Good luck.
I love my Fat bob and couldn't believe the way it handled. I went from riding a Rocket to my fat bob and truly just fell right in love with it. The handling in unbeleiveable, not to mention that i sunk right into the seat compared to the rockets.. was love at first sight and havnt put another mile on the rocket sence buying my BOB..
I have an 06 Superglide and am 5'6". I had a Sportster with forward controls which fit fine. The frame on my Superglide seems to be about 4" longer between my *** and the handlebars. I have mid controls on the Superglide. I agree, I'd go to a delaer and try them on for size before you buy.
