Default Fat Bob Model Changes ?

Hi, I had a few hours demo ride on a 2012 model Fat Bob today, and wow what a great bike but i got to admit the forward controls left me with real uncomfortable backache because as a kid i was diagnosed with mild scoliosis (curved spine) and in my teens i had an op to correct it which involves lots of metal replacing bone...Anyway years later at 46 i just have to live with more back pain than most ,but thats life, and as long as my motorbike has a comfortable seat it aint so bad..Once i finished the demo ride i went to the Ads looking for a used Fat Bob with Mid controls and have found 2 for sale, both 2008 bikes cos here in the UK mids were dropped as an option after 08... I notice the trip computer switch has been moved up onto the bars on the new bike, but are there any major changes from the 2008 models against a new Fat Bob, and you guys will know a lot more than me cos im new to the FB...Thanks Si

The 2012 has a 103ci motor vs a 96ci on the 2008-11

However, I would get an 08 or 09 and use the price difference to build a powerful 107ci that will blow the stock 103 away

Sadly the UK aint getting the 103 in the Fat Bob ,its staying 96ci, but i like your way of thinking....

the fat bob to my knowledge has always had forward controls on it. you would have to have the mid controls installed if you wanted it that way. I have issues with my back as well. the mid controls on my streetbob as well as the adj. hwy pegs work well for me.

Nope...mine came with mids, and I had the option to change them to forwards at no cost, but stayed with mids.

Nothing too major changed. The rear fender changed size slightly and the exhaust gained a cat after 2008 and there were some minor tweaks to the tune.

It is possible to change to mids. I priced it up at about Ł850 for new bits. You might get lucky though and find the dear bits like the covers used on the US eBay from someone going the other way on another Dyna.

2010 has better gearbox, 5th has been changed so it won't be noisy anymore.
Personally, me uses 5th more than 6th.
