Taking a poll. Watcha guys think? Keep my apes, or throw on some 32 inch "broomstick" drag bars. I love the low, clean look of drag bars. Lotta guys have them on there nightsters and I keep drooling over it. Watcha guys think?
well im going low on mine so im gonna say drop em like a skirt!! back pains whut drugs r for anyway - youll want mids pretty quick for sure - hopefully ill have some pics soon of mine
Well if you are going to run a dead straight bar I think they look best on a 8" + riser. Personally I wouldn't go below 10". The other nice thing is you can make that bar with a drill motor and off to powder. That is if you don't want the risers welded to the bars. I had a similar setup on my night train and it was shoulder height due to a small bar and narrow. If was fun.
I don't know how comfy a broom stick bar will be.?.
My 28" drag bar on 8" straight risers is great (for me). If you don't end up liking the broomstick bar, you can just swap it out with a regular drag bar for $11.
I dig broomsticks....but I agree that you're gonna need to put em on some taller risers or you're gonna hate them. We put a set of 10" rise broomstick T bars on a sporty several years ago and they SLAYED!! Most broomsticks are narrower than 32" though. That's pretty wide for em.

For some reason the thought of broomsticks on 10" risers just reminds me of cutting the grass with a push mower. Adrian, you could wire in a kill swtch/bar like on a mower so when you let go of the bars...the bike shuts off.
BTW, right now, you have two votes for apes...One was me, and I hit the wrong button! Add me to the lawnmower bar side.
