While reading your question there was an ad from Motosport and I went to the link and found a Mustang wide touring seat for about 1/2 the $$ I expected to pay. It will look a little bulky but should keep mama happy. I just hope Motosport isn't a ripoff.

Any suggestions for a good touring seat for FXDF? Gel vs. ???
Better yet, where to find a slightly used seat???
I rode my Fat Bob from Texas to California and back early this past month.
I put in several 14-16 hour days on the stock seat. Sometimes I would refuel without getting off the motorcycle. I find the stock seat superb as is for solo riding.

Great stuff! And thanks for reading between the lines. I am totally comfortable with the stock seat, but she wants (understandably) a little more cush.

Me too. But I don't always ride solo, if you know what I mean...
I've used Corbin saddles on my motorcycles for the past ten years and I'm quite satisfied. These aren't plush saddles. They're firm, more like a horse saddle. That works out great for me, as it provides comfort and support. They have a closed-cell foam system that breaks-in to the rider's shape, so it becomes something of a custom fit for your ***.
I've had them on sport bikes, my Road King, and I plan on getting a Hollywood Solo for my Fat Bob during Daytona Bike Week (10% discount during shows/events).
This morning I read this post and purchased a Mustang seat from Motosport. I called them this morning, confirmed Mustangs part# and they said no problem. I got an email this afternoon stating they don't have the thumbscrew. No problem. Called them to make sure they were going to ship it and lo and behold, now they don't have the seat they told me they had 6 hours earlier. Thats BS.
I just ordered a Daytripper seat from Motosport today, hopefully it gets here in decent time, price was 50% off.
Talked to Mustang, they said Motosport will not be carring their HD line of Mustang seats in the future, so they are clearing out their current inventory.
