Ditto Rounder.. You go bigger and it looks good but you lose with control thru turns. The 240 you have to throw it into the turn you gas it and it will straighten up on it's own. IMHO 200 is the biggest I would do.

I was looking into it pretty hard. I was looking at the Custom Valley kit. Indy said thats a pretty good kit. Total cost was going to be around $7000. Yes, 7 grand! Kit, tire wheel, fender, paint, turn signals, possible seat work to make it fit better, and about 20 hrs of install.

I had the opportunuty to ride a Thunder Mountain Blackhawk240 a few weeks ago. Gave me a bit of perspective on the wide tire. I still love the looks and I know the ride would get easier / more comfortable, but JRK is correct in that it makes a huge difference. You have to really muscle it around a bit and lean a lot more to get the corners.

Good luck! Every time I see Bosken or Bobber Jay's ride I start thinking about it again...

I thought Bosken and maybe 2 others did a 200. Jay's looks cool, but, man that price is steep! For that money you can get into the 100/100 club and really enjoy your bike every time you twist the throttle.

Ya, I think youre right, Bosken's is a 200.

I figured for that kinda money I could do a big bore kit, a 200 on the rear, rake the front 5 degrees, new pipes....

It kinda seems to defeat the "pupose" of a dyna, light and nimble. I have seen guys on the frum put 200's without the kits,
