Default Dumb question about Quiet baffles...

On my new quiet baffles, does the clear tape around the packing material need to come off before they're installed? Seems like it will melt if I don't remove it......

It may be there to hold the fiberglass in place when you insert the baffle into the muffler, and then burn off over time.

That was a thought I had, but I wanted to make sure before I put them in. You'd think they'd have some instructions or something.

holy crap don't leave the tape on there... The excessive heat will cause the tape to catch fire and the sticky part will explode!!!! HEHE kidding... you can leave it on there... Funny I wonder how many might have believed me or tried to correct me had I not said I was kidding.

Probably several, this forum doesn't seem to be into sarcasm very much.

Ahhh new baffles! The bike will smell like buttered popcorn for 500 miles. Enjoy the great sound and the urge for a coke/brewski to go along with the popcorn!
