180 Tire Kit Question
As for others without the kit reporting wiring issues on here, I'm not saying it's not true, but I've never read that here. I don't have the kit and haven't had a wiring issue yet. And everytime this subject comes up, the overwhelming response, from people who have done this, is that you don't need the kit if you are comfortable that nothing under your fender can or will contact the tire at all reasonable levels of rear end travel. This seems to be easily accomplished when you already have the detachable backrest hardware installed.
the fatbob fender is wider than the streetbob fender from the factory(this is why sissybars for other dynas won't fit!). You will need to cut the fender down the middle and weld in a center section to make it fit.
Bottom line, if you are concerned about the wiring, buy the kit. If you end up with wiring issues without the kit, you have nobody to blame but yourself. But if you do your due dilligence to make sure the wires are secure and out of the way, you don't need the kit - that has been proven.
Excellent! Thank you!
I now believe you can most certainly use the OEM brackets, jut hammer flat the end of the rear bracket where the bend is, strictly for clearance reasons, then, the rear bolt is switched to a Button Head Cap Screw! Problem solved! I'm not worried abut the wires as my TS has already been relocated and all wires are at the back of the fender.
Great info guys!

Here is a side note worth pointing out...
For those of us who run without turn signals and strut covers--That threaded rear hole in the "kit" replacement brackets would allow the use of black cap screws instead of having a bolt sticking out where the turn signal would be. Much cleaner!
