Checked the UPS and FEDEX web tracking and it looked like I was supposed to have two deliveries this evening ... I was so looking forward to having a close-in (Softail Deluxe style) bullet turn signal bar from Chicago H-D and a set of mounting brackets and hardware to mount my new hard bags from Discount Cycle Parts ....
Suffice it to say I was sadly disappointed as neither delivery made it!
Oh well, tomorrow is another day. Hope they make it ... soon!
I'm still waiting for a new swing arm from Harley under the warranty, and then I have to wait for the dealership to get the rearend put back together!!!
At least it's snowing! And at least it's not summer, because it would take a month probably.
I completely understand your delivery hopes. I ordered a 06 Sporty for the wife two weeks ago from Ohio. It isn't scheduled to arrive until Friday this week but it was just on the Missouri boarder on Monday, then they drove it almost all the way out to Colorado yesterday. This morning it is only 43 miles away. I am tempted to just run out there and pick it up. I probably would if the roads weren't so damn icy here in SE Kansas.
I hate waiting for parts. I'm always afraid they're either gonna arrive when my wife is home, or that the nosy fricking neighbor across the street is gonna ask my wife when she sees her, "so what did UPS bring the other day?"
I have the @ss end of my bike jacked up, shocks removed and the strut covers off. I only have one turn signal with stand-off to remove. I inadvertently jacked up the other one and twisted the wires off.
I almost have the other one (turn signal) off intact, but need to remove the wire connector from it so it'll slide through the hole. I'll have to figure out the bracket mounting methodology as I'd like to make the bags relatively easy to remove--if not quick detach!
I'm going to install a turn signal bar like JMPANCOAST just installed on his .... I think I might try to figure out a work around instead of shaping the turn signal bar mounting surface ... maybe get a couple of nylon washers and use them as stand-offs (shape them to fill the odd gap).

Well it turns out the FEDEX was the wrong order shipped to me (5086 and my order was 5087) ... the guy whose order was 5086 got my order. So, each of us got a shipping label with the other guy's address to forward the proper order to the originating customer.
So, it's not really me who's screwed by the lost FEDEX shipment, it's the other dude! Sucks to be him ....
Well, it also sucks to be me since my UPS shipment with the turn signal bracket is still lost!
I agree, waiting for parts sucks. I check the tracking numbers every day to see where it is....hurry home from work to check...no parts. It's like a kid waiting to see what he got for Christmas.
