Funny you should mention that I had a bitch of a time, cuz I'm a dumbass. The lower slipped out after a little pulling and some wd-40. The top I had to pull the muffler off and give it a few good wacks, I have about 800 miles on the bike when I did it. Funny part is the stealer riveted the mufflers on which you couldn't see until you pulled the shields off, so a dumbass, yours truly, spent a long while swearing and yanking on mufflers before figuring it out. I'd remove the screws and shoot wd-40 or similar around the baffle and screw holes, wait a while then yank. But i'd be prepared to pull the mufflers. I just used a pair of needle nose to pull on the inner baffle, vise grips would work also.
Angry Monkey,
Sorry for laughing, but that was funny about the rivet thing.
I thought about spraying some WD-40, but I was afraid that some residue might stay inside and then react to the heated mufflers. So all I did was remove the muffler, stuck the butt end of a hammer inside the exhaust end, then whacked it with another hammer and popped out the baffles.
Just got back from the law enforcement memorial ride, love the BCTs. They just give that great rumble that sets off cars alarms. Honestly, pretty happy with the baffles, sounds good, and feels good. I'd recommend them.
well I got em on after swapping slip ons used a brake tool to pull em out
very satisfied with sound ...my wife just shook her head ruefully and walked away
after the first time I started it up ...
theres a new look in the house when im trying to justify money going into bike
