Default Question about running lean

Is anyone running after market pipes with a stock ECM? I have a 06 and am being told the 02 sensors would make the adjustment. I am installing V&H pipes with a S.E. A/C. I was thinking about running it for a while to see what kind of adjustment the 02 sensors would really make. If they don't compensate then I'll put on a PC111. Would I do any damage to the bike while riding it without a PC,TFI or the stealer download?

You could get by with just the pipes but the SE Air cleaner will cause it to run extremely lean and could cause engine damage. Do the PCIII at the same time you install your goodies.

from what I have read the bike runs lean straight from the factory to conform to emissions. If you open up the air flow more with after market pipes it will be more lean and if you add the high flow air cleaner it will be way way to lean. Best bet is if you cant afford the DL, dont put the A/C on it. You should be fine for a bit with just the after market exhaust, but I wouldnt ride it too much like that. The bike really could use more fuel straight out of the box.
