If I go with the "Under $50 mod, will the signals sit back behind the QD windshield? That may look goofy and may get alot of glare when riding at night?
yes you will need another one and the holes need to be drilled out a little. there is one on the left side holding the sig to the handle bar. I found mine at the local Harley salvage so I don't know the part #, but if you explain to the dealer or take the one you got in to show, I'm sure they could help you. you also might be able to find someone here on the forum that has installed a HD relocate kit and has one laying around that they don't need anymore.
and no they don't go behind the QR shield if you install them on the lower tree's, they are just below.
if you want a better pic of how they look when done I can post one tomorrow
Just a heads up, mine seemed to be hardened, I wound up taking a round file I had and making the hole bigger, not as easy as drilling, but not much work.
the jp relocation gooked good as well, but when i was looking it was not in stock, so I went this way, easy mod.. and cheap.

Do you, or does anyone happen to have the PN for the JP kit? I thought I had the right one but when I went to order it came up as something else... unless they changed it?
The nylon washer between the bracket and the blinker housing is a must. I used a little ingenuity to aquire some nylon spacers. I removed the nylon insert from a 3/8" nylock nut. (a 3/8" nylock has a 5/16" i.d. hole through the insert). Using a small triangle file, I carefully filed the crimp away from the nylon insert. It worked great.
