you know what i am going to say... be sure they know what they are doing when media blasting them...you ahve to get that chrome off the rest of the shield for the powder to work... took me almost 4 hours blasting my shields to get it perfect i shot them with dimand sand and had to keep taping and re taping the chrome areas... if the shop cuts corners the powder will look like crap, not hold up, and white flake like crazy! i thought it would be cool to reverse what i have and chrome the top like 6 in of the shield and have that have a scallop like design and then flow into black... would be completely trick!

I powdercoated the heatshields off my Vance and Hines short shots. The powdercoater I work with said if I had a problem he would re-spray them with ceramic. No problems so far. Every once in a while when I was sitting for long periods durring the middle of summer, certain parts of the shield would get a little hazy, but would come back to the satin finnish when I cleaned them.

Powdercoat Pro: Very Durable Con: Not extememly heat resistant. Only up to 400 deg.

Ceramic Pro: Very high heat resistant 1200+ deg. Con: Chips easily. (Rock strikes)
