that yarn idea sounds really good and also check out if you can get a grommet that will fit the hole, that way no matter how clean you make the hole the wires will definitely be protected.

Default drilling risers??

Does anyone know if you can drill risers for internal wiring. The risers look to be solid after the hole for the threads. Just trying to figure out if i can drill them out for the wires.

You're not limited to 1" bars. Many 1.25" bars have 1" riser and controls area built-in. No one makes 1.25" controls that I know of, so it's probably going to always be like that.

are you guys taking apart the connector that it plugged in inside the neck of the frame? or is there something to take apart at the controls?
I've been pondering this mod for a while. What sucks is i'll have to do it twice becaus emy wife will want her bike done the same way.

Take them apart at the connectors.

Doing it for yourself should give you lots of practice for when you do your wife's bike.

did mine ... easy... used a dremmel with the cutting wheel. No drilling. took no time at all to cut out the 3 rectangular holes and finish up smooth. Worth it.
