Default Dyna Rear Axle Alignment
Can someone give me the part number for H-D Axle Alignment Plug set for the newer hollow rear axle. Thanks

Huh? There should be a hole in the swing arm 2-3 inches forward of the axle head/nut. That's where you take your measurement from. Use a bent and sharpened piece of rod, like a coat hanger. Or use a caliper and measure to the center of the axle, both ends. Cheap and easy.

I had the part number a while back but when I tried to order them from my local HD dealer they could not find them on their computer and suggested that they were not for sale to the general public. The part number is listed in the 08 service manual I'll see if I can borrow my buddy's manual again and post the number here on the forum.

Here is the part number for the axle alignment plug kit = HD48856

made mine out of a bicycle spoke and a left over drain plug gasket. $1.50 and it works better.

Don't have a part #..... the *tool* can be made in minutes for pennies.......

I believe the later model dynas have larger holes in their axles which when using your tool would tend make the alignment more like guess work. It would really be nice if the axle had the same size hole in it as the swingarm.
