Nice. A buddy of mine above had a hell of a time finding what would fit perfect. I was lucky with the Street Bob, and the 1 3/4 ID to OD worked great. The packing will blow out around 1500 miles, but it still sounds good. I like the sound better than my ThunderHeader I have in the shop.
Good Job.
I wanted to keep the packing for pressure I guess it does something. I've let the packing the way it was I didnt remove a layer so ... I should off tied it with collars ?
I left mine the way it was as well. After time it started to blow out. I noticed a more raspy sound instead of the deeper tone. Doesn't bother me. I think the pipes sound great and unique. The reason the packing did not blow out of my stock baffles is because the holes were so small I don't see how it could, and also there wasn't a way for the exhaust to blow out freely, so I think it might have slowed the exhaust pulse enough not to really disturb the packing, but more than likely it was be like sticking a cotton ball through a pinhole with the stock baffles. On the Cycle Shacks as you know you have almost dime size holes.
oh man what a difference, The old baffle ( original ) with the cat in the baffle and the holes that a pin wouldent fit in, i cant understand how the motor can breath, with the cycle shack baffle the motor sounds way better and it is not really as loud as i thought it would be really just perfect, thanks for the mod, best 40 beans i ever spent. this is also on a 2010 street bob with factory a/c. i would recommend cycle shacks to anyone. tnx Kev
They sound nice don't they. I really like the sound, but went back to the Thunderheader. I have my mod up for sale @ $75 including the muffler, and already has the coupling installed. If they don't sell I might use them on another project one day.
They sounds sweet, but they will get a little louder. Give them about 1000 miles, and they will open up when some of the glass blows out. Good ridden!
I have noticed the sound getting deeper as time goes on. I left all the packing in and didn't fasten it with anything. I think it might be breaking down the fiberglass a little but haven't noticed anything blowing out. I have the thundermax autotune installed and the two together run and sound great. I noticed an increase in hp and no popping, choking, backfiring... as I accelerate or decelerate. Definitely worth the time and the cost is probably the cheapest of any mod I've done!
