if that's the only thing you don't like about the Fbob - buy it.
there is little doubt that someone on the forum will trade you straight up - your dual for their single lamp - maybe even throw you a few $. No problem.
True...I've seen the Fat Bob in person, but havent seen a Street Bob yet. From looking at the HD web site the two look to be about the same. My dealer here for some reason is slow to get bikes. I havent seen the SB, XR1200 or the new Iron883. Really have no interest in the last two, but would still like to check them out.
If people were to actually shop around they would see that it is a BUYERS MARKET out there. There are lots and lots of bikes for sale. If you're patient you'll find a great deal. They're all over out there now due to the economy.

I don't know about the extra dough part but I'd trade in heart beat...
Don and SH are correct. I looked at buying my next WG a year ago and they were still very high, I waited until Dec '08 and got my current one for under 10K buying price, in fact 10.5 drive out. Its an '01 and sitting next to an '07 at the dealer the other you couldn't tell much difference, except the '07 looked smaller some how.
As for the first one you look at... Well I got the first one I looked at, just loved it as soon as I looked at it and rode it. Called the 3 other people that I had set looks with and told them I wouldn't be coming by.
Oh and yeah... I was bummed to see the stop with the WG also, this is my 4th one and cant see buying anything else.

Well, there are allways exceptions. I found mine on criagslist, I watched it for awhile, The asking price was $11.500, with just over 10k miles, bone stock and all the matenance records. With a little luck ( the seller need money for his house asap! ) I was able to pick it up for just under 9k.
I have no idea why the dropped the WG it's the one bike that truly different(not just wheels or exhaust or trim etc.) the o6 and up WG are a lot different from the earlier models. (new frame,88 or 96" 6 speed to name a few. it, like all dynas are signifecantly different than softtails. I'm 6'7 and my wide glide fits me like no other bike. yes they are more $$$ but they carry a lot of bling stock.
