I just got my 2001 FXDWG ... have been dying waiting for the weather to get better so I can get riding ... it's my first bike and I fell in love as soon as I sat on her, at 6'1" it just fit like a glove ... I admit it ... I had no idea of the history, I just liked the bike ... now, I'm proud to not only own a HD, but one damn good model too!
Yep its gone! They are very nice but $$$$$$$ For the same price you can buy a RK,Streetglide or just about any softail!
The WG is a lot better handling that a Sloptail and to me it feels more comfortable than a RK out of the box and well, I won't get started on streetglides.
Don't let the fact they're out of production stop you, if that's what you want. The wide glide is a fine bike. In the next life when I have a 4 car garage, I'm adding a Bad Boy (they only made them 3 years) and a 1980 Sturgis too! Far as the best bike Harley ever made...my vote goes to the FXR!

Yessirree, deals are out there to be had...see my sig. Got mine thru ebay just over a year ago. Not a misprint; just 546 miles when I got it. Had the full set of narrow-band billet grips/pegs, Stg.1, V&H StraightShots, QD 'shield, HD Bags, mini-sissy, rack, flush pop-up gas & gauge...all-in-all over $4K in tasteful goodies. Like someone earlier said, gonna be a buyer's market (for a long while). You won't regret a Wide.
the last WG to roll off the assembly line is still sitting at a HD dealership somewhere ...
Seriously ..... dealers still have them ..... probably because of the duracell paint ... no offense to owners of that paint ..... it just doesn't do the WG justice.
BUSCHA - yours is my favorite WG on this forum - looks perfect to my eye.
I can't get past that rear fender to each there own. Did you find your bike yet? By the way that duracel paint grows on you after awhile, I like now better than when I got the bike.
Just bought a 01 WG off of Craigslist with only 5000 miles, he was asking 7700 and got it for 6 and a laptop computer. Got her took apart repainting, bar change and a few other mods too. Will post pics when done here in about a week.
