Shocks
Going to be taking off the shocks and putting on some new 11" ones.. One of my friends told me today that when i install the new ones i would need a shock compressor to put the new ones back on??? is this true or just blowing smoke up my ***?? in other word am i goin to be able to install and take off my shocks with out a problem or am i going to need somthing special to do this??
i jacked the bike up and put a cinder block under the back wheel and let the bike down on it until the wheel touches. Then i take the top nut off and take the bottom bolt off. Remove one shock then the other. install the top part of the shock first then lower bike until you can get bottom bolt do the same for the other side. Easy with the lift.
If the bike is jacked up with the rear hanging wouldn't it be just as hard lifting the rear end into place so the bolt holes line up? EDIT: Nevermind I see how Ratt said to do it and that makes perfect sense.
I'm gonna be doing the same thing here shortly, putting 1 inch shorter shocks on and I don't have a lift. Could someone just push down or sit on the bike after removing one shock so as to line up the bolt holes. Is that doable? Yea I know I need to get a jack but they ain't on sale right now.

it can be done with out a life I just did it this week in the snow. Had to have a friend help lift up the back a little to get it all lined up but worked out fine.
