Okay, so I'm down in Yuma, AZ right now, having a good run with friends and family.
We take the bikes out on Friday for a little joy riding before the Saturday ride.
I hear a loud "CLACK" in my primary. We went 150 miles but luckily it happened only a mile or so from the place we are staying.
So it's making this loud rattling noise in idle and in gear, etc. From the primary.
So I get it over to the dealership here and guess what...
NO OIL IN THE PRIMARY!!!!!!
When the Denver dealership put the controls on they forgot to put oil back in!!!
Anyway, all is good now. They had to pull another Bob off the sales floor and swap everything out, and the Denver dealership paid for it. And they got it all done in 4 hours the same afternoon when I brought it in! The day before a ride! Amazing, and I really recommend the Yuma Dealership.
Man, and I thought it rode good before!!! LOL
So apparently you can go about 375 miles without oil, or at least in cold Colorado weather!
Thank God it didn't lock up at 75 MPH!
Anyway, I got a windhield finally so I have some pics that I will upload when I get back to Colorado.
Sounds like two dealers stepped up, worked together and saved the day. Good that the dealer in Denver accepted responsibility and took care of it. Better that the one in Yuma got right after it.

Yeah, but the Denver one was going to refuse until they could get a chance to see it and do the work themselves when I hauled the bike back.
I got on the phone with the owner and told him he'd be paying for my vacation then.
So he decided to just pay for the bike!!
PS - All that work only cost $831! Not bad, considering.

That is great to be able to have the two dealerships work together like that, in that short of time. It just amazes me that you could travel that far with no oil. What could have been a nightmare turned out good!!!
that sucks atleast they paid for it though. You got me scared now after I bought my bike I only had 3 days to ride it and to be honest shifting seemed quite a bit louder then normal guess when I get home I'll make a preventative trip to the dealer to check everything out as they put my forwards on too.
Your experience is a good example of why I change my own oil. The 1000 mile service will be the last time the dealer changes my transmission and primary. Only reason I had them do it at 1000 miles was for any potential warranty issues in the future.
