Default superficial rust

so i went to iraq for 15 months and the wife stole my street bob no worries i now have a crossbones but... the bike has rust in several areas like the forks and tripple trees any easy remidies out there?

Just glad it wasn't your ex-wife or you would likely have more than rust to worry about with it.

Mother's polish and a microfiber cloth work pretty well. All depends on what the base metal is, though. Use the right polish for the right metals and you'll be fine. As long as it's superficial rust, you'll be able to get it off without too much effort.

I wouldn't recommend an abrasive pad product just yet (I think Eagle One makes an impregnated cloth wadding called Never Dull). While it would get rid of the rust for sure, it might also leave minor scratches behind.

I like Mother's polish myself. Both the Aluminum and Chrome polishes work well. Flitz is also a great polish. Just read the labels and make sure to get the right polish for the particular metal you'll be working on.
