I am just about done mocking up my WCC front fender. Only issue I have may be the tire spacing between the front fender. I only have about 1/4 in now after welding the spacer to the fender. How much will the front tire expand? Is this way to close? Has anyone found a lower profile tire to replace the stock Super Glide Custom tire that may give me a little more space? I will take some pics tonight and see what you guys think. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
octane, which WCC fender did you go with? I up graded to the 21" rim, and was looking at new fenders, a few of WCC's looked sweet. You have any pics, I
I am going to shave 1/4" off the rt side spacer tonight and see if it will give me the space I need. Hopefully it will pull it out a little bit so I can avoid rubbing. It would suck to spend the money on brand new paint to burn it off in a few miles, or worse, blow out a front tire. I will take pics tonight and post them. The Forty follows the same lines as the stock superglide fender. I looked on their site and didn't see the Forty any longer. It is listed on chopperscycle.com. Here is a pic of it before mounting and pic off chopperscycle web site. I trimmed the bottom of the fender a little to get a better flow once mounted.
OK, here are some pics of it. Hopefully everything works out. I am thinking about spray painting the inside of it and taking it around the block a few times to see if I am rubbing anywhere. Hopefully Sniper is right and my sides get a little thinner. I ground down some spacer material to pull the sides out some, so now I have 1/4" on each side and 1/2 on the top like the Metzler website states. Wish me luck
Good luck octane. I really like your idea of welding the spacers to the fender and threading them so there is nothing on the inside of the fender to ever catch anything. You did a great job trimming it too.
The first fender I bought had that edge that matches the rear fender but was too small a radius to fit. I really wish I had found that fender before I bought the one I ended up with though it does still look great.
