Here is the infamous 06 rotor that seems to fail miserably. Mine looks OK (6500 miles) but I am going to do some preventive maintenence to it. I am going to take it into work, fire up the tig welder and tig the bolt heads so they CAN"T back out. I forgot the first photo that shows it after removal, this one is after I washed it with hot soapy water in my kitchen sink to remove all the oil residue. I am going to also replace the famous IPB while I'm at it. I should be out of this for about $100.00 when I'm done. More to report tomorow. I should have some peace of mind when I finish!

Awesome is it possible to document and post pics of the ipb location, what it looks like, where to look for it etc......i might have to do this soon.......

Does anyone know when they switched to the welded unit? Some have said mid 06, some say 07. It would be nice to know what build date we need to look for.
I'm pretty sure that this is what I need to modify?
Yep, that is the whole enchilada.
The difference in the newer one and the one don has in the pic is a weld line where those bolts are now. By tacking those bolt heads don is insuring he never has to worry abut them backing out, into the stator, and causing bunches (the technical term for those of you in Rio Linda) of damages.
