Last summer I did all of my research and couldn't make up my mind between the FB and SG. I was stuck in the mental hell of trying to really figure out the type of riding I would be doing, long rides vs the everyday stuff. Well, not wanting to buy the wrong bike had me in a holding pattern for several months and last night I "saw the light".
My wife advised me that with the amount of vacations I take by myself traveling to fishing tourney's, that there would be no time for cross country rides in my future (yep, i just admitted that). So the FB it is!!
So, my one and only question, has anything changed from the 08's I was looking at to the 09's? Feedback appreciated!!
BTW - 1st post, long time lurker. I'll be sure to post up an intro soon.
There might be cosmetic changes but I can't think of one. I do know that if you get the 09 you can get that fancy catalytic converter now (sarcasm) that none of the 08 Fat Bobs had. If you are gonna change your exhaust, including the header pipe, than it doesn't matter.
Didn't they change the derby cover and belt guard colors? I don't know if it was stock or not but I have seem some with black belt guards for example and mine is chrome ('09)

Stock derby cover was a solid polished (not chrome) and the belt guard was chrome for my 08. So many people change the derby cover it's hard to know what is stock anymore and as well, people like the black look and switch to the black wrinkle upper belt guard but chrome was stock.
Thx for the info guys. Running out the door now, guess I should keep an open mind on the left over 08's if I can save a few. Thought that I had heard rumblings about a frame enhancement with the 09, but must have been bad info.
Like every other trip to the dealer, I walk out more confused than when I walked in. An unknown law to me, the Texas Blue Law, prevents them from selling bikes on Sunday so no sales people were in the building. This was nice because I never had anyone bothering me while I looked around. I did spend some time talking to the service/parts guys who were super nice, but all agreed that the 103 kit was a waste of money and to just go pipes, breather and ecu download (stage 1?). Anyway, that darn street glide still calls my name every time I walk thru the door.
Oh, and they dont let you sit on the bikes either. uggh.
