It would take more time ( man hours ) to create that on that tank than it would to spray it one color...thats for sure.....

i get what they are trying to do with the whole "dark custom" bit, its the new wave for young riders. i have seen that paint done a year ago on a guys bike who was doing his own thing....now he's kinda pissed....can't really blame him.

i think harley does so much research on how to sell and who to promote to these will sell well, i like the concept but its just like any other harley that roles off the showroom floor.....STOCK!

I think it's pretty cool. Sure, it's less paint, but the work involved is more. The underlying metal is ground with a pattern in it, not just scuffed and cleared. I've seen a couple of the clearcoated bare metal tins and they look sweet.

Looks cool, not $2k cool though. I would think i could get something done that was more original looked similar and was cheaper by having my current tins done.

I've seen that particular one on the showroom floor and although it looks cool, I'd rather spend the $2k on a custom paint job.

Maybe in 5 years Harley will put out what is cool today like flake and lace. I think Blue Moon Kustoms did this set.

It would not take that long to do that to a tank with a angle die cutter and a sanding wheel. Now that purple set is another story alot of work went into that.
