I need suggestions on what kind and length of ape hangers to install on my 06 fxdi. How do the chubbys look? 12, 14, or 16 inch, what is too high?

The chubbys look good but as far as what is to high that is a personal choice and varies alot by riders.

How tall are you? What are you after as far as looks and style? Do you bar/city hop or are you a long distance rider? Your the one who needs to determine "what is to high" for you. I have 18" ape's but am also 6'2. I don't do out of state rides so this works for me. You need to make a check list of your riding patterns and determine what it is your after.... ride, show, style, comfort... are you wanting to hang from your bars and get all the attention or are you wanting to feel the old school ride? Heres my ride with 18's... good luck!

Depends on you arm reach but I think the 14's look good on the dyna. However Skank's ride is definately kickin and he's got 18's.

Mine are 16" chubbies. I'm 5'8" and have no issues with them.

16"'s for me at 5'9" as well. I prefer the more aggressive look. I had lower apes when I got the bike and after a few months I decided they were not tall enough. Find a few bikes with different heights and sit on them to see how they feel.
