blacked out heat shields

ide like to paint the heat shields on my pipes black, i know alotta guys have done it and im wondering how its holding up. i know to use the hi temp bbq paint, but how did you ruff up the chrome to hold the paint? what grade sandpaper or what did you use. thanks in advance.

ron about a week or two ago this went around a few of us did a pretty signifiacant write up... if you use the search you can find it... if not let me know i can just do another write up for ya bud...

I did this a couple of years ago with the black BBQ paint. I roughed up with medium grit sandpaper on a sanding wheel on my drill. It's held up awesome for a few years.
