I have been thinking that I might have another underlying issue that is causing my *** end to wander. But then again I have alot of grooved freeways around me which might be causing my Dunlops to wander also. .
Flamed,
Im in socal also - on all the San Diego and Riverside freeways constantly - up into LA less than that but still up there at times - honestly I dont have a wandering issue with the dunlop - its just a wear issue with me - I get about 8k out of them before their on steel belt - my guess is another problem for yer wiggly *** problem - are you running stock shocks, etc? i might have missed at the begining, whats your weight, is this problem running solo or two up?

You should be changing your tyres long before they get down to the steel belt!
Tyre wear is not as important as your neck, for heaven's sake.
If anyone is suffering from a wiggly *** there are two solutions. One is to use better tyres, like Avon Venoms, the other is to invest in a handling kit. I have TrueTrack kits on both Glide and Dyna and it is the only way to travel! The Buell came with the equivilent fitted as stock, so all three bikes have their handling sorted.
not to steal flameds thread, but yea, im saving up for the true track - on steel belts - i kow not the best - just is what it is, i run tubes so not as crazy as if it were tubeless
i cant find an avon 160 or 170 for a 17 inch wheel - least not on sleazebay - got a link?
While everyone is beating up on TIRES....
Does anyone have a definitive answer as to what the tread life vs handling vs overall tire safety between the FEW Radial Motorcycle tires vs the myraid of Bias Ply tires that are out there.....I'm NOT pointing at a specific Brand or Model I'm just curious about Radial vs Bias Ply tires for H.D. Touring etc.

Reason: small error
Is the wandering you're talking about something you feel in turns? I feel it in sharp turns especially, but I've been told it's a sensation that True-Trak fixes...not to say that the stock Dunlops (what I'm running) aren't total crap.

I'm in the UK, so can't help with a supplier, but here is a link to Avon's fitment guide where you can get their recommended tyre for your model of Harley. That will tell you exactly what to look for!
