Ya Yellowhawk. Me too Reflective Skull. Love the jacket and fit I ride a Fat Bob and at 6-3 it works great. Also classy look without being to loud. Mike
It seems a lot of the HD mesh stuff is covered in a polyurethane coating. This stuff will melt into your skin and, if you are lucky, they will scrub it out with a steel brush. For SERIOUS protection, I go with a Kevlar/Cordura mix. No problems on the bike, here is the link:
As for leathers, I got this jacket [Willie G. HD Jacket] - STOKED, SUPER STOKED on the look, quality and feel (although I wear a sweater underneath in cold weather) - the skull and lettering are reflective:
green and black pedleton and my cut - windbreaker underneath for those frozen tundra socal mornings - one piece coverall for when it rains
i look at those icon moto jackets all the time - a few of them are pretty nice, but whenever i get a little coin its gone before its spent on clothes
I wear a couple of armored Joe Rocket textile jackets. A Meteor with removeable liner and decent venting for cool to cold weather, and a mesh Phoenix for the hot times. The Meteor is a little stiff, but good in most weather below 75. The Phoenix is really nice in the heat and can be worn in cooler wet weather, with the wind/waterproof liner.
I have 3 Harley jackets, a light weight & heavy weight w/liner textile jacket made out of Cordora nylon with lite padding in elbows & shoulders. I also have a mid-weight non-insulated HD leather jacket. All HD jackets are limited edition models that are easily sellable on ebay if I wanted to. I always wear kevlar lined jeans when I ride with heavy logging boots. When it is hot out > 80 degrees, I wear a Draggin kevlar shirt in place of a jacket.
+1 on the Draggin Kevlar line of gear. Wear the shirt and long johns since they dont make their jeans in a size that will fit me. Hubby has a pair of their jeans and shirt and wears that when we ride. Was thinking of getting their blue jean jacket lined with kevlar for summer riding, since leathers can just get too hot.
