HD OE battery at the dealer (Deka) 270CCA $100-120.00

East Penn Deka EX20LBS 270CCA at a deka dealer $79-88

Note: ALL are AGM sealed batteries.

If you go to the east penn-deka website they have a dealer locator.

American owned and made also.

006 up has a very tight fitting battery box.

I know in my experience the InterState/Yuasa
would not go in without forcing it,
and would not come out short of a prybar.

I sent it back and went with the HD.

I did a lot of research as well,
looking for a high performance unit to crank my hi compression motor.
and I just could not find any hiPower batts to fit into the compartment.
The HD cranks just fine though. no issues.

Also, each manufacturer rates cranking using different formulas,
and they can be very misleading.

Mud:

I checked with both:

East Penn Deka: 6 7/8 L x 3 7/16 W x 6 1/8 tall

Yuasa: 6 7/8 L x 3 7/16W x 6 1/8 tall.

I am going to get the Yuasa Interstate but will take my core out and take my tape measure with me. The Deka is the HD OEM battery for sure. But I'll measure mine first because. But like you said it is tight in there. I put a cloth ribbon strap taped to the back of the battery to be able to pull it out easy. Otherwise the stock battery in my bike is a bitch to get out.

Why not make a cover? Can't be that difficult.

Default Thanks KBFXDLI...

My dad was in the auto parts business for a loooong time and told me that Interstate batterys were without a doubt the best you could get. Have used them in 4 wheelers for years and have never been disappointed. Never knew they made them for scooters. Will have to check it oiut.

Went with the Deka a couple of years ago, the only problem was with the posts for the cables, easily corrected.

How long can expect my stock battery to last??? how long are people going on the stocker???

My '06 Dyna just had it's birthday and is now 3 years old and the stock battery is still working fine. I ride year round and have 18,500 miles. It always cranks fine but i learned when i got it that you dont want to sit there with the key on and it not running for more then 30-60 seconds or it will crank slow cause the headlight drains it down.
