With the SERT can I download maps and make modifications myself or do I still have to rely on the dealer to do it?

This was my point exactly....

If the SERT comes w/ a CD full of maps.....

There should be a place on this forum to post them.

I realize everyone is trying to get paid....however be sure that when I do pick up a SERT....

All the files on the CD will be readily available.

Also I keep reading NOT to use the HD download...

Why is this????

Depending on what year bike you have the download either comes from a computer file or from a cartridge that is plugged into the ECM. The HD download is only for the Stage 1 Air Cleaner and stock pipes. If you put on anything after market on the bike other than HD slipons the bike will still run lean with the stage one download.

Before I went to the Vance and Hines Short Shot Staggered and the PCIII, I was running the Stage 1 A/C and Download with the HD Slashdown Slipons and the bike ran great. It still didn't sound like a Harley should so I changed.

There are maps on the SERT CD and more maps on the HDMaps website for $69 and you can have the bike custom dyno'd and make your own custom performance map based strictly on your bike with your mods. If you do that just make sure they save you a copy on CD in case you have to re-load.
