When I was first deciding on buying a bike my brothers were trying to convince me to buy a street glide or a road king. Which is what each of them have. They were like if you get the Fat bob your going to have the wind blowing on you and the noise, feel the bumps in the road, you can't have a radio, pretty much rid of all the creature comforts. I was like, that's kind of why I want one. I love the feel of the open road and the wind on me. Don't get me wrong, eventually I can totally see myself on a street glide or road king. But right now I"m loving the crap out of my FB and I don't have one regret. Esecially when we stop somewhere and people are like "damn that's an awesome looking bike". It definately gets more attention.
Most guys refer to baggers as any bike with saddlebags, I'm going to add bags to my dyna eventually, once it's nice out I mostly ride my bike. If you do alot of riding you need saddlebags
Example: You head out on a long ride and it gets cold and you didn't bring a jacket cause you didn't want to sweat to death, or it rains.. where do you stash the rain gear or jacket/sweatshirt?? in saddlebags..
They only guys that usually don't have bags are the guys who ride for an hour tops on the weekends or to the bar on friday night. Or the guys who live where you can ride year round.
I know some guys in Ma that ride year round, I do when I can but if it's below 40 I don't ride.
It's just way more convienent to have bags if you're gonna put on alot of mile otherwise you have to stick it out if it gets cold or hot or rains...
I really needed this thread, I have been torn between which bike to purchase. I was torn between a lowrider and a streetglide, I haven't test drove either one but I am leaning more towards the lowrider/bob....My dad pushes, and pushes me to get a bagger but I go in the dealership and go towards the dyna's....I'm going to give it more thought and pull the trigger very soon!

But I dream about a dyna
Damn dude. Get want you want, f*ck the rest.
Why buy something that is not what you love? I got my Street Bob last month and it is by far the best money I have ever spent and I will never have to look back and wonder if I did the right thing, etc.
I like it both ways. probably risky adding more debt with the state of the economy but if I die tomorrow at least I will have enjoyed most of life's pleasures that are important to me
Rode back to NC from Daytona on Tuesday, 500 miles in temps under 40 on a FXDC without a windshield. I would have given my left nut (if I could have found it )for a bagger! Gonna have one parked next to Dyna one day...
