I guess after years of riding and modifying dynas (and constantly boasting about how they're the best damn bikes that HD builds now days,) I think I was starting to take them for granted. Constantly trying to improve them and make 'em better. But yesterday I had a customer bring in a Bourget Fat Daddy for maintenance and a detail. The Bourget has a 300mm rear tire and I'm unsure of the rake. I rode the bike for a bit to check it out....and I have to say, I once again realized just how damn good Dynas are after riding the Bourget!!!
Granted this is a primary side drive model, which makes it worse. But damn, probably one of the worst handling bikes I've ever ridden. As soon as I parked it, I got on my bike and took it for a spin. I couldn't wipe the grin off of my face, thinkin' about how much this guy spent on the Bourget and just how much damn better my dyna was! So, be proud that you've got a dyna...and the next time some rich yuppie pulls up next to ya on a $40,000 "chopper" thinkin' he's the ****...just smile get him to follow ya down a road full of twisties! There's NO comparison!!!!!!!!
Funny you mention it. Today I went for a ride with 3 other guys from work. A CBR600 rocket, a vulcan classic 1500, and a softail deluxe with $30,000 invested in chrome and doo-dads. Honestly, that softail was VERY pretty, and made me feel a little bad about the ratty plainess of my dyna...until I dusted his *** in the twisties. The CBR of coarse kept up (and would have passed me if he new where we were going) but the other two cruisers were lost. I've learned that I really enjoy riding with sportbikers (racers, not stunters), and that my dyna may be a slow harley, but it still eats other big cruisers for lunch!!!

It was between my Fat Bob and a Night Train. I am so happy I went with the Fat Bob. It is the bet bike I have ever driven and one of the most enjoyable bikes I have owned.
Guess neither of you guys have encounered a Yami Warrior, stock it will absolutely EAT any stock Dyna on a twisty road and positively outrun it on a straight. Of course it comes with a stonkin 102" hot rodded motor and weighs just a tad over 600. R1 derived front end and sportbike like tasty framework.
Yeah...I've "encountered" a warrior before. I agree that they're nice machines, I won't argue that fact. But the Warrior I ran across can't argue that he got his *** handed to him by piece of hot rod american iron either! And no, I don't claim to have a "stock" dyna either.
