please help me I changed my bars about 2 mts ago and everything was fine. went to take it out about 3 weeks ago and the headlight was out,
I lifted the tank to check the connector I`m getting 12 volts on te orange wire I guess it is right off the wiring harness and nothing on any other wire but when I plug it back into the headlight wire I get nothing at the headlight could it be a bad wire to the headlight I dont think its a bad headlight but I never seen this before
ps I did not cut the wires to install the bars I just undid the plugs
06 street bob
Thanks Jeff
i would take the light apart and check the conection pluged into the bulb and see if you have 12 volts at the white and yellow wire you should have 12 v at one of the wires then the other when you turn your brights on if you have no power there then trace that back to the plug for under the tank.
well looking at the wireing digram in my manual you need to check the two wires at the headlight one is yellow one is white one is for low beam one is for high beam. black is ground no orange wire in the head light if you dont have 12 v at either the yellow wire or the white wire then your problem is somewhere between the headlight and the plug under the tank. oh and have you checked the fuse? looking at the fuse box its the bottom right fuse 15 amp i believe.
Thanks Ratt I just found it. It was the blue wire off the main wire harness some how it must of pulled out (it was all the way out)
for anybody that is doing this wireing for the first time DOUBLE CHECK the wires before putting everything back together
Thanks to all
Jeff
