i'm 6'3" 300 and I like to run 31 front and 37 rear, if it's a quicky around town i don't adjust for the passenger but if i go far i bump the rear to 40. My friend has a '08 SG and had new metezelers on it when he got it and the dealer put like 42-44 PSI in the rear with nitrogen and after 2,000 miles the rear tire is about 3/4 worn out. I aired it down but the damage is done. he needs to learn how to check his own tires.

The dealer was only doing what the manufacturer specifies for Metz, maybe he likes to do burn-outs on front of 7-11
Some people dont realize the PSI on the sidewall of the tire is the MAX pressure it can handle, which should only be inflated too under a heavy load. The tires on my truck are rated at 40PSI, the manufacturer recommends 30 PSI, I run 31 PSI case tires usually lose a pound in a month or 2. At 30 PSI i get a perfect across the tire wear. If i tow anything or haul anything further then across town i bump the rear tires to 35 PSI, and i have air adjustable shocks so i'll bump those up too to level out the truck.
However, i will put the max pressure in my spare tire because it loses pressure faster due to the excessive heat under the vehicle and it's easier to let some air out then to put it in.
For those who dont know, over inflation wears out the middle, and under inflation wears out the sides and also eats gas due to the added drag.
I'm running the stock OEM tires and like cold pressures set at 30 front and 38 rear. I usually check the tires every three or four days to maintain the same pressures.
