Or is their another spot you can tap the line?

I'm sure you could jig up something off the port where your
stock Oil Pressure Sender is located.

Here is what an Oil Temp Sensor looks like. Basically, it is a thermocouple that sits in your oil stream. The output of the thermocouple is in millivolts and this is read by your Oil Temp Gage. You can use a T-Fitting just below your Oil Pressure Gage and install the Oil Temp Sensor. Then connect the wires, Bat., Gnd., Signal. Sometimes it is a two wire sensor, Bat. & Sensor. Ground is the temp sensor body which connected to the motor and then by a ground to the frame and eventually back to the battery. (All the same, just has to be a good contact)

Here's a link to a good read on how a temp sensor is set up for a touring model, the HD MoCo instructions.

if hooked to an oil cooler line, should it be before or after the cooler, im sure there are a few different opinions, just want to see a couple different, id assume pre cooler, because thats what your engine would be runnig at.

Anybody tried one of those dipsticks with the digital temp gauge on top? Not exactly easy to see while underway, but cheap and easy.

RoadHouse, I thought about this on the way home today; you need to be as close as possible to the hottest path for your sending unit. i.e., right around the oil filter adapter.

Mud is just to cool with his ideas. Love the finger.

I have seen a digital Oil Temp sensor for the Oil Fill. But, it was battery operated, (coin cell), and you had to push a button for the read out. Definitely not readable while riding.

Mud, it has to be convenient to have what is basically a knife threaded in your bike.
