Installed the sissy bar today
Was ordered to make it happen. "Gee, honey, I have to buy something new for my motorcycle? You're really twisting my arm here!"

Ordered a sissy bar with sideplates and pad off eBay, and ordered the pillion to go with my seat.
Sissy bar arrived first. Quality is sort of questionable on the pad, the rest is okay. I had hoped the seat would arrive on Saturday so I could do both at once, but it was not to be. Sunday arrives, nice weather, so I go get all my other chit done for the day and take the sissy bar package out to the garage. Installing the seat won't take but a few minutes, bar might take longer. Might as well do that now so I can pop the new seat on quickly. Git-r-done.
Turned out to be relatively easy, went better than I remember this process being on the Sportster. I even think the turn signal relocation might be fairly easy on the Dyna.
Why no pics? Because it looks silly without the pillion.
Even that little bit of wrenching felt good, especially after a visit to my dealership on Saturday to pick up my lift adapter kit. Guy was setting up an appointment to have his own sissy bar installed, they said it'd be about an hour of labor - so that's eighty bucks I just saved. Plus, that satisfying feeling knowing that you did it yourself.
I may have to look at the mustang vintage solo with backrest. I think I've seen that setup on a couple of other bikes as well. I like the look...
