V&H competition Indy outlaw. That shovel take a new look every few years. I get bored and "test out" stuff on it.
thanks and please post a bigger pic of the shovel.
my '81 was set up with sporty tank for a while too. been thinking of changing it around, but every time I try, I end end thinking that its finally "nailed". Just need to change a couple of small things.
Rode it yesterday. After a month of sitting, gave it few kicks to prime, turned on the key and it popped on 3rd kick. If I ride it regularly, its a 2-3 kick cold and 1st kick hot. Gotta love when you build something yourself (from swapmeets and friends' stashes of old junk) and it loves you back.
The only things I bought new were alternator/stator/regulator and Dyna ignition/coil.
Here's my "abortion", as of last weekend. It's an '07 FXD.
Stuff I've bought and put on: Supertrapp tunable slip-ons, LePera Silhouette seat, black XL1000 flat-track handlebars, Night Rod fairing, Rick Doss chin spoiler, highway pegs, blacked-out horn cover and "football", black mirrors with longer stems, fork gaiters, greyed-out turn signal lenses, greyed-out laydown brake light, combo tach and speedo, ribbed derby cover, pyramid cover (to cover the license plate holes).
Other stuff I did myself: Painted the exhaust cans, heat shields, battery trim, rear springs. Cut the V-Rod fairing to fit around the tach/speedo. Cut the chin spoiler to fit. Drilled out the heat shields and belt guard. Bobbed 2" inches off the rear fender. Relocated the license plate to below the fender.
Stuff I want but can't afford yet: different wheels, different breather. New grips and pegs.
No, I ain't no "customizer", and I ain't pretending to be one... but I still feel pretty good about what I've done so far.
How did you mount your headlight Visor? I like the way it looks.
