I had to make the same sacrifice but it was not a Harley I gave up. Brand not important. Well, 30 years and 3 grandkids later I finally got back on a bike, this time a Harley.
Not to worry. Too bad the bike had to go but with a youngin' that age your better off on four wheels. After a couple of close calls when I had 3 young kids I realized the bike was not that important and sold it. No regrets at the time. Well, years later when my last boy was about to finish college I got a new Road King. Found I appreciated it more and the enjoyment factor increased tremendously. Enjoy your wife and kids now because the kids grow up fast. Your family is better off with you along for the good times together.
Man you blew it. A backpack with two leg holes would have worked to carry your daughter. J/K.I did the same thing about nine years ago, had a '95 Wide Glide I had to give up to get a truck when the kids came along.Got a new one last year and the kids love riding on the back.
Well here's one for you my wife and I have 3 year old. My brother in law got a superglide last summer and I was helping him work on it and we had to go to the stealer for a part and I started drooling over a lowrider. I didn't think the wife would let me get one until my daughter was older. But it was my turn for a new vehichle and I had a choose a new bike or a new tundra. Take a guess which one I choose. Thrust me you'll get one sooner than you think. Good luck
